Frozen Fan Art

I'm one of those really annoying people, I like to finish one project before moving onto a new one. With all the movies that have been released over the holidays I knew I had to finish this piece of Anna from Frozen fan art before moving on to a new one. Completed on Wacom Cintiq and Adobe Photoshop CS3 and CS6 (yes it was time to upgrade).

Maleficent Fan Art

Been a tough few weeks where real life has interrupted work on my art. Thankfully we seem to be resuming normal transmission so I've finished off a portrait that I had been working on last month.

I was inspired by the new film, Maleficent. I was worried that Angelina Jolie (never a fan) would ruin my all time favourite villain (yep i loved Maleficent before it was cool)- but the movie was fantastic and lots of fun. Jolie's portrayal was over the top but thoroughly entertaining and authentic.

Fan Art Fun

Feeling a little rusty with my drawing, so decided to play around by mashing together famous characters and their various aesthetics. Snow White has been drawn in an Adventure Time style, whereas Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time has been drawn in a Disney Princess style.

Disney Coloured Pencil Illustrations

I first started these illustrations in 1995 after we travelled to Disneyland on a trip I won. Part of the prize was spending money at the Disney store and I bought 2 sketch books (amongst many other things).

The later sketches were done instead of doodling when at work in a call centre, I find that drawing helps me thing, odd huh? The sketch is done in lead pencil first and my coloured pencil brand of choice is Faber Castell.
